Ten Nicklaus Design courses were recently recognized as top-100 ranges in the United States with awards from the Golf Range Association of America. Bear’s Best Atlanta, PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., were recognized in the GRAA’s list of the Top 50 Public Facilities. The Nicklaus Design courses named to the list of the GRAA’s Top 50 Private Facilities were Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, OH, Ohio State Golf Club in Columbus, OH, Red Ledges in Heber City, UT, The Peninsula Golf & Country Club in Rehoboth, Del., The Reserve at Lake Keowee (S.C.), and Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky.

Facilities were evaluated on several criteria, including general appearance, the role their range plays in making their entire facility more successful, how their range helps to grow new customers and the number of visits from existing customers, how it drives revenue through teaching, clubfitting or junior golf, and how it helps golfers improve their games so they have more fun on the golf course.
