Mountain Course
Situated just minutes from Victoria's
beautiful downtown harbor, the first of two Nicklaus Design golf courses at
Bear Mountain features a stunning series of panoramic city, ocean and
mountain views. Resting at the base of Mount Finlayson, Bear Mountain has
combined superb playability with natural, west coast surroundings. Five tee
selections vary from 5,783 - 7,083 yards ensuring the ultimate experience
for every level of golfer.
After their first visit to this unique mountain-side setting, the design
team of Jack Nicklaus and son Steve decided to add a 19th hole that is
certain to draw visitors from far and wide. Typically, the 19th hole refers
to the clubhouse but in the case of Bear Mountain it signifies a golf
masterpiece like no other. This extra par 3 will certainly make it difficult
to for golfers to keep their eyes on the ball. Facing Mount Baker, golfers
are set to tee off into the beautiful Victoria city skyline, with the
Olympic Mountains and the Pacific Ocean as the backdrop. The 19th hole
offers the longest set of tees at 7,083 yards, making it one of the longest
courses on Vancouver Island.
Valley Course
Bear Mountain proudly opened their 2nd Nicklaus designed course, The Valley, June 1st 2009. With its completion it made Bear Mountain the only 36 hole Nicklaus Designed property in Canada!
The Valley Course boasts a beautiful Par 71 championship layout that meanders its way through the valley located just below the resort. With 5 sets of tees and between 4674 - 6807 yards of golf, the Valley is sure to fit any players demands. With a completely different design and feel as compared to the Mountain Course, the Valley Course enables Bear Mountain the ability to offer it's guests two unique golf experiences.
