Golfweek magazine recognizes Bear's Best Atlanta in its "Top 40 America's Best New Courses" list

ATLANTA (June 2005) -- Golfweek magazine has ranked Bear's Best Atlanta in its 2005 "Top 40 America's Best New Courses" List.

The Top 40 America's Best New Courses list recognizes the high quality that architects and builders have delivered at the top 40 public, private, and resort courses all of which opened in 2003 and 2004.

Bear's Best Atlanta, a member of the ClubCorp family, ranked at No. 36 and is the only course in the state of Georgia to make the list. Located in Suwanee, Georgia, just 35 minutes north of downtown Atlanta, Bear's Best is a legacy of Jack Nicklaus' greatest designs. Appropriately named Bear's Best, this premier daily fee golf club features 18 replicated holes from Nicklaus' courses such as Muirfield Village, Shoal Creek, Castle Pines Golf Club, and Scotland's Gleneagles. Nicklaus planned each hole with great care in order to capture every detail of the originals, from elevation changes to bunkering to vegetation.

The list derives from the efforts of Golfweek's America's Best course raters. This nationwide team of 385 evaluators regularly surveys more than 1,800 golf courses and renders their judgment on the basis of 10 standards of evaluation. The criteria for evaluating the golf courses may be found at www.americasbestcourses.com.
