Gold-Standard Golf Community Forged in Northern Virginia

New Partnership unites Nicklaus Design, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. and Juno Properties, L.L.C.

Golf's Golden Bear is in Virginia's hunt country today to evaluate construction progress on a new 7200+-yard Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. This course and The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club will be the centerpiece of Creighton Farms, a 180-home golf community that will grace the rolling landscape in historic Aldie, Virginia about 30 miles west of Washington, D.C.

Gathering today at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner, Nicklaus was joined by Simon F. Cooper, president and chief operating officer of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C.; and Ira Fenton, president of the development company, Juno Properties, L.L.C., to announce the formation of their new 10-year partnership and outline their premier project.

"We believe Creighton Farms coupled with The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club represent the ideal setting for a luxurious, residential lifestyle. It combines exceptional home sites with world-class recreational offerings," said Cooper.

The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club's course, as with most Nicklaus-designed courses, will place a premium on strategy and precision rather than power, but will offer every golfer variety, a challenge, and a memorable experience no matter the skill level.

"I design layouts which challenge golfers to play intelligently rather than ones that test their strength. Golf should be a game of precision more than power," said Nicklaus.

Nicklaus added the design incorporates much of the property's natural surroundings. "I don't believe in forcing an idea on a piece of land, but rather, I blend my ideas with the natural environment and let it help me shape the design of each hole. In the case of Creighton Farms, we were provided a site with rolling terrain and some very appealing water features." Additionally, on more than one hole, players will contend with a small, but richly foliaged creek that meanders through the property.

The community's third component is central to the experience being shaped. The homeowners and members of the private golf club will be afforded the legendary five-star service and outstanding amenities of The Ritz-Carlton. Serving as the center of operations for a myriad of social and concierge offerings, the clubhouse and related amenity buildings in the community have been designed in a classic Georgian manor style to produce a comfortable, country lifestyle. Excited about the company's involvement at Creighton Farms, Cooper added, "It is destined to become the most desirable residential address in the area. We look forward to creating The Ritz-Carlton lifestyle within this country club community."

Sold by Juno Properties, home sites will vary in size from one to five acres offering open vistas of the course to richly wooded, private acreages. According to Fenton, "Creighton Farms will have several of the area's finest homebuilders with finished homes priced from $2.5 million."

The Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course and The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Creighton Farms is expected to open in 2007 and will be the blueprint for further collaborations by the three principals.
