Nicklaus Marketing and Communications
The Nicklaus Companies Marketing and Communications division is available to assist Nicklaus Design clients with a variety of services and resources that will help promote, market and raise the overall awareness of their project. The Marketing and Communications staff will help integrate these services into the client's marketing plan and will provide direction and contacts for any services that are not fulfilled in-house. The following is a summary of some of the services and resources available.
With well over one million page views a year, Nicklaus.com offers a known and trusted resource within the golf community as the client works to grow their brand. In addition to features for the Nicklaus fan, Nicklaus.com boasts a highly trafficked golf course design section -- four of the top-five most-visited content pages on Nicklaus.com are located in the Nicklaus Design section of the site. This section offers website visitors the ability to search for Nicklaus Design courses open for play or under construction and also highlights spectacular golf course photos and videos. An increased use of audio and video on the web today affords clients a great opportunity to expand the exposure of their project.
Nicklaus Marketing and Communications offers clients the opportunity to expand the online presence of any Nicklaus Design golf course by providing a webpage on Nicklaus.com that is devoted to each golf course project. From the time a contract is signed, Nicklaus clients can use the website to post contact information, press releases, construction and golf course photos, scorecards, renderings, and audio and video clips of important moments in the development of a project.
Public Relations and Media Support
The Marketing and Communications staff is available to assist Nicklaus Design clients with news releases, media contacts and the coordination of media and marketing events. From the first draft of a press release, the Nicklaus team offers support and guidance to clients during the process of writing and distributing news material about a project's ground-breaking, construction status or grand opening. With the ability to format a client's release, while co-branding with both the course logo and the Nicklaus logo, any press release can make an impact after it is distributed to the Nicklaus Marketing and Communication list of close to 4,000 media contacts worldwide.
Logos, Photography and Artwork
Based on the level of design services contractually agreed upon, Nicklaus Marketing and Communications will provide clients the necessary trademarks and logos that can be utilized upon written approval for such needs as collateral material promoting the golf course, advertising or direct mail pieces, apparel and headwear, scorecards and course signage, course plans or blueprints, and even food and beverage items like place mats, napkins and cups.
In addition to logos, Nicklaus Marketing and Communications has approved photography available for various client needs, including headshots of Jack Nicklaus or Jack Nicklaus II. As an added benefit to support the early efforts of a sales and marketing team, Nicklaus Marketing and Communications can provide photography of other Nicklaus Design courses that might represent the look, feel and level of quality of the client's future golf course. Once a contract is signed, Nicklaus Marketing and Communications can provide clients with a superior and varied selection of Nicklaus Art and Memorabilia at preferred pricing for the decorative needs of a clubhouse, golf shop or sales center.
Grand Openings and Events
The Grand Opening and other media or marketing events can be the most memorable days in the history of any Nicklaus Design golf course. Whether it is a day with the design team opened to media, or a Grand Opening with members and VIP guests, Nicklaus Marketing and Communications offers support throughout the coordination of these events, while working to maximize the presence of Jack Nicklaus, Jack Nicklaus II or the project's Design Associate. Nicklaus Marketing and Communications also can offer contacts for Jack Nicklaus Apparel, logoed headwear, gift books and magazines, and other items often needed to complement and carry out such events.
Jack Nicklaus International Golf Club
The Jack Nicklaus International Golf Club (JNIGC) is a reciprocal-playing network developed exclusively to benefit members and owners of Nicklaus Design facilities. An added value for any project, members of participating Nicklaus Design courses have access to a private Web site, which provides information on the more than 125 Nicklaus layouts that are available for play. Golf professionals at Nicklaus courses are provided with a directory of contact and access information that helps them facilitate tee-time requests on behalf of their members. Visiting JNIGC members are responsible for their greens fees, but there are no additional costs to the participating clubs or their members.
Jack Nicklaus Cup Matches
Every Nicklaus Design course that is open for play is invited to participate in the annual Jack Nicklaus Cup Matches. Established in 1984, this exclusive three day golf tournament has proven to be an excellent format for competition and camaraderie among Jack's affiliated clubs. Each head golf professional is invited to field a team consisting of three of their members to play in a modified match play format that is contested at a different Nicklaus Design course each fall. Invitations that include all of the tournament details are mailed to head golf professionals at the beginning of each year.
Nicklaus Apparel and Headwear
Each season, the Jack Nicklaus Apparel collection offers a broad range of styles, fabrics and colors that are attractive and comfortable to inspire confidence for any occasion. From classic polo shirts to luxurious sweaters, each item features distinctive design detail, quality craftsmanship and signature branding to unmistakably identify it as the best. Nicklaus Design clients are afforded a special rate for Jack Nicklaus Apparel and are offered embroidery options that allow new clients to establish and grow their brand next to the recognized and respected Jack Nicklaus and Golden Bear.
For additional branding opportunities, Nicklaus Design offers clients the best in headwear options through AHEAD, the leading designer and marketer of branded headwear, apparel and accessories. Headquartered in New Bedford, Mass., AHEAD can assist any Nicklaus Design client in outfitting members, guests or staff while offering personalization options through embroidery.
The Nicklaus Design Partners program is a unique marketing opportunity that provides design clients with access to the finest practitioners of related services and products, turf care equipment, golf cart fleets, clubhouse furnishings and pro shop merchandise. Nicklaus Design has developed exclusive buying programs and pricing advantages with well-respected companies and is pleased to extend these benefits to clients.
