Mission Hills Jack Nicklaus Junior Championship returns to China

Mission Hills Group—owner and operator of the world's two largest golf properties, and an impetus in the growth of golf in China—hosted the Jack Nicklaus Mission Hills Junior Championship on May 25-27 on the Nicklaus-designed World Cup Course.

One hundred competitors in four age categories (Under 15 and Under 18 for boys and girls) battled over 54 holes of stroke play on the World Cup Course. Rui Xin Liu was the overall girls champion with a score of 200, while Tian Lang Guan was the boys winner, shooting a 199.

For the second straight year, R&A World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR) points were awarded to competitors.

"The tournament has rapidly become a fixture on Asia's junior golf calendar and a key component of our multi-faceted program to cultivate a generation of major champions,” said Tenniel Chu, Vice Chairman of Mission Hills Golf Club.

Opened in 1994, it has been lauded as one of China's most impactful courses and best tournament sites. The layout most recently hosted the 2011 ISPS Senior World Championship, won by two-time major champion Sandy Lyle.
