Monte Rei Golf & Country Club, the luxurious new golf and residential development located close to Vila Nova de Cacela in the Eastern Algarve, has appointed a General Manager. Thomas Rubi, 38, brings with him considerable experience in the hotel industry, gained in his native Switzerland, East Africa and the USA.

His international management experience in all areas of modern hospitality, from golf and spas to entertainment and fine dining, as well as the highest concepts and standards of customer care, fit him well for the role at Monte Rei, whose clients have an international outlook and lifestyle.

Work at the extensive Monte Rei site continues to gather pace. The golf course - the first Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course in Portugal - progresses well and is on schedule to open in October. The magnificent clubhouse, centerpiece of the resort, is rapidly taking shape and will be operational for the opening of the golf course.

Thomas Rubi therefore joins the Monte Rei team at an exciting and crucial time in the development of this prestigious resort, and he relishes the challenge.
