Cancun Classic Returns to Palace Resorts for 2006 Golf Tournament

Golfers Invited to Play at Two of the World's Finest Championship Courses

Miami, Florida, June 16, 2006 - Palace Resorts, the company that set the standard in five-star, all-inclusive resort accommodations, is pleased to announce that the third annual Cancun Classic is returning to the Moon Spa & Golf Club and the Playacar Spa & Golf Club for 2006. The tournament, which is scheduled to take place from October 11th - 13th, will open with an icebreaker cocktail party on the 9th, practice rounds on October 10th and close with a culminating awards dinner on the 13th where fabulous prizes will be awarded to the top finishers.

"Palace Resorts is proud to host the prestigious Cancun Classic for the third year," said Roberto Chapur, President of Palace Resorts. "Not only does this premier event help define Cancun as a one of the foremost golf destinations, but it also places us on par with other top golf destinations in the world. We look forward to welcoming golfers who are up for the challenge."

Open to golfers of all skill levels, the tournament will be played at both the Moon Spa & Golf Club and the Playacar Spa & Golf Club. The Moon Spa & Golf Club is home to the only Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course in Cancun and is set on the rolling Cancun-Riviera Maya landscape. This 27-hole championship course hosted the 46th edition of the Mexican Open and was the site of the 2003 American Express Tour de Las Americas that featured participants from South America, Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

The Playacar Spa & Golf Club is recognized as one of the top courses in the world and is as challenging as it is beautiful. Designed by renowned architect Robert Van Hagge, this 18-hole, par 72 course, carved from the dense Mayan jungle, will inspire golfers with its competitive course surrounded by lush foliage and aquamarine waters.

The tournament play will feature a scramble of two players in the Stableford Cancun format, where 50 percent of the sum of the handicaps of both players is considered. It will be based upon the rules and regulations of the US Golf Association that have been adopted by the Mexican Golf Federation and local rules. Registration is $550 for individuals and $1,100 for teams.

The top three tournament finishers will be awarded luxury, all-inclusive vacation packages at Palace Resorts and trophies to commemorate their achievements. In addition, skilled golfers who make a hole in one on the seventeenth green on either course will win a luxury car, while those who get closest to the pin on select holes can win cash prizes up to $3,000 and such items as Mont Blanc Pens, high-end watches or a laptop computer.

Palace Resorts, the company that set the standard in five-star, all-inclusive resort accommodations, offers nine all-inclusive properties throughout Cancun, the Riviera Maya, Nuevo Vallarta and Cozumel. At each of the Palace Resorts, guests are provided with luxurious, yet affordable, accommodations with double Jacuzzi, fine cuisine, 24-hour room service, top shelf drinks, sensational entertainment, non-motorized water sports and unlimited select tours.
