Muirfield Village GC leads five Nicklaus courses in GOLF ranking

Muirfield Village Golf Club, considered by many to be the jewel in Jack Nicklaus’ design résumé, once again repeated in both the US and World Top 100 lists released this month by GOLF Magazine. The 2011 US and World Top 100 lists included five Nicklaus Design courses, with only Muirfield Village and Harbour Town (Jack’s design debut in 1969) appearing in both lists. Muirfield Village Golf Club was No. 30 in the US and No. 52 in the world, while Harbour Town was No. 45 and 78, respectively.

Five-year-old Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y., came in at No. 63 in the US, and Whispering Pines, a Nicklaus Design course in Trinity, Texas, was ranked No. 80. The Ocean Course at Cabo del Sol, which is the top-ranked course in Mexico, was 100th in the World ranking.
