National Golf Club in Pinehurst reopens after renovation

National Golf Club Reopens after Three Months of Renovations

National

The Jack Nicklaus-designed National Golf Club in Pinehurst, North Carolina, which first opened in 1989, recently underwent renovation and has reopened to rave reviews from members and guests. Updates to the course included a heavily contoured elevated green on the first hole, the removal of trees surrounding the par-4 11th hole, and reworking the bunker face in front of the green on 16.

“The bottom line is that everything is similar to what we had, but better,” Course Superintendent Dave Bowbliss said. “Rebuilding the greens has made the course more playable.”
