Pearl Valley Golf Estate and Spa lies in an historic Cape valley encircled by majestic mountains 10 minutes from the vineyards of Franschhoek. From a distance it might appear to be similar to many other golf estates. With manicured stylish residential areas and secure access points and boundaries, it has all the characteristics associated with the very best of these attractive developments.
Conceived in 1997, Pearl Valley remained on Jack Nicklaus's drawing board during a period when a number of new golf courses made their appearance on the South African landscape. The interval between planning and execution enabled the Golden Bear, together with the local professional team, to monitor these developments, take note of international trends and refine the original master plan in subtle, yet significant ways.
Jack Nicklaus's influence cannot be overstated. His "Signature" golf course has set the tone for the entire estate. In fact everything about Pearl Valley is of the "Signature" standard. This means there are fewer home-sites surrounding the 18-hole golf course compared with most other golf estates.
