Course Overview
Before the first home site was plotted at Ruby Hill, Jack Nicklaus designed the layout for Ruby Hill Golf Club--his first in Northern California. The result is a scenic championship course that follows the natural arroyos and gentle contours of the setting. Exceptionally wide fairways and generous setbacks preserve the views and contribute to a feeling of "escape" in the midst of a residential neighborhood.
The 225-acre course will play to over 7,000 yards from it's Nicklaus tees. Each hole offers five tees, providing a challenging game to players of all skill levels. Incorporated into the design are expansive lakes, exciting elevation changes, the highest quality bent grass greens, natural bunkers and native oaks. Here, the finest traditions of golf are enriched by the scenic beauty of the Livermore Valley Wine Country.
Bear Facts
"You couldn't ask for a more prettier entrance to the course. There, on the left, you have a par-4 fifth hole coming in. And on the right is the par-3 sixth going out, up into the hills. The surroundings here are very pretty and we've tried to create something to be the centerpiece." - Jack Nicklaus
