Course Overview

Unmatched in its approach to comprehensive family amenities at the highest level of quality, Cordillera is a residential golf community for the aesthetically and recreationally inclined. A pioneer in mountain golf communities since its inception in 1987, Cordillera is a stunning work-in-progress and has successfully established itself as North America's most unique residential golf community.

The new Summit Course, on 190 mountaintop acres at 9,000 feet, quickly took Cordillera to new heights. In June 2001, Conde Nast Traveler rated Cordillera among the Top 20 golf resorts in America and the Caribbean. It was Cordillera's highest rating ever and the third time it rated in the top 50. The magazine's readers cited the addition of the new Summit Course. The 18 hole, 7596-yard par-72 Summit Course at Cordillera takes full advantage of the natural, rolling terrain of sage, aspen and spruce-covered hills, with stunning views of the Rocky Mountains. Following the natural tree line and working with existing vegetation and landscaping, minimal earthmoving was necessary--less than half of what is typical in course construction. Only 80 acres of turf require irrigation and manicured attention; the rest will remain in its natural state. In the process of developing the new course, Cordillera was able to create additional open space to further protect the community's natural beauty and improve hiking and recreational access to three million acres of the neighboring White River National Forest.

Bear Facts

This is a spectacular golf course, just absolutely beautiful. Combine the dramatic elevation changes, the wildlife corridors and the wetlands, this site represents one of the most unique courses that I have had the pleasure to work with. The Summit Course is the only golf course on which you can seemingly see forever from each hole.
