Puerto Vallarta is no longer just a lazy resort town with a single golf course. With the opening of Vista Vallarta Club de Golf and its two dynamic championship golf courses, Puerto Vallarta's destined to become a major golf destination.
ClubCorp, the world's largest owner and operator of golf courses, private clubs and resorts, opened a championship Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course at Vista Vallarta. The Jack Nicklaus Signature Course is built into the rolling terrain of the property's highest elevation. The course offers golfers a variety of challenges with its rolling grassy hillsides, dense forests of palms and giant ficus trees and natural creeks and arroyos. The layout offers spectacular views of the city and the Bay of Banderas. With dramatic views of the city and bay, golfers will want to play this course twice - once for their camera and again for their clubs.
A few weeks after its official opening, on April 14 & 15, Vista Vallarta hosted the 2001 Ford Intercollegiate Golf Championships.
