Why Nicklaus Design?
Nicklaus Design is well qualified
Jack Nicklaus and Nicklaus Design have created close to 350 courses in 34 countries over the last 40 years, so the firm understands how to design a golf course that will be playable for all levels of golfer, yet when and if needed, their designs can challenge the best players in the world. That’s why Nicklaus Design has had 90 courses host more than 600 professional tournaments worldwide or national amateur championships. At the same time, the playability, shot values, strategy and aesthetics of a Nicklaus Design course have led to no fewer than 63 being included in various national and international Top-100 lists. At least 22 past and present Nicklaus Design associates have earned membership in the American Society of Gofl Course Architects. Nicklaus Design's Punta Espada Golf Club at Cap Cana debuted in Golf Digest’s list of the “100 Best Courses Outside the United States” just seven months after opening for play.[ more ]
Nicklaus Design understands development requirements
Nicklaus Design understands not only quality design and playability, but they understand and respect construction and maintenance requirements. The firm works in concert with the owner and developer to meet their goals during the construction process and beyond. With a staff of talented Design Associates, most of whom have close to 20 years of experience with the firm, Nicklaus Design combines experience and knowledge with proprietary software that allows them to expedite the design process in a more timely, efficient and cost-saving manner. Nicklaus Design also has offices and personnel worldwide to efficiently support the requirements of the development project.[ more ]
Nicklaus Design improves real estate and membership values
Since most of today's golf courses serve as an amenity for a residential project or resort community, Nicklaus Design courses have proven to provide developers with added value and a marketing advantage. Independent market research accumulated over the last 20 years has shown that Nicklaus courses have outperformed courses by other name architects, when you evaluate such key factors as membership fees, greens fees, real estate value, home value, resale value and velocity of sales. This translates into a significant advantage for a developer who is trying to instill confidence in its consumer. Nicklaus Design at Serengeti in Johannesburg has enjoyed 100-percent sell-through on all four phases launched since May 2006. The first phase sold out in 2 hours, and each subsequent phase has sold out in a weekend. The average selling price has increased by about 30% in 18 months. At St. Francis Links (2006) on the Southeast Cape, the project is almost completely sold out. St. Francis first launched without the Nicklaus name and the Nicklaus Signature Course was added after the sales launch. On average, sales of property after the Nicklaus brand was added were 85% higher than property sold without the Nicklaus brand.[ more ]
Nicklaus Design support is ongoing
As an extension of the marketing advantage passed along to developers, Nicklaus Design provides additional support with its marketing and communications team. Among the tools provided to the client is the exposure gained through its Web site, www.nicklaus.com, which is among the most highly trafficked sites in the industry. Each Nicklaus Design client is given its own web page within www.nicklaus.com that is active for the life of the project. The pages can and will contain important information on the project, contact information, the project's web site address, news releases, newsletters, downloadable brochures, photography, and audio and/or video. Any significant news or releases are posted on the front page of nicklaus.com. Those news releases are often collaborative efforts between the clients and Nicklaus Design's public-relations personnel, and are frequently distributed by the firm to its list of more than 2,500 media representatives around the world. Among some of the other advantages or additional marketing tools born out of the Nicklaus relationship is the ability for a client to join the Jack Nicklaus International Golf Club, which is arguably the largest reciprocity-playing program in the industry. Clients who choose to join JNIGC are providing their members with access to some 130 Nicklaus Design courses worldwide. This is a significant addition to a project's early membership marketing program.
All these additional support and added services is provided at no additional charge to a Nicklaus Design client.
