The playing field for the 2015 Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide has been finalized. World No. 2 Jordan Spieth leads a contingent of 120 players for the 40th edition of the prestigious invitational Jack Nicklaus started in 1976.

USGA Museum celebrates opening 
of Jack Nicklaus Room

The United States Golf Association Museum in Far Hills, N.J., held a special event on Wednesday, May 27, to mark the opening of the Jack Nicklaus Room. The new room, which celebrates the life and career of the 18-time major champion, joins galleries that honor Bob Jones, Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer and Mickey Wright.

The 1,200-square-foot exhibit space contains more than 80 artifacts, many on loan from the Jack Nicklaus Museum in Columbus, Ohio.

"We are delighted that we are able to gather friends and family at the USGA Museum to celebrate the addition of a room devoted to one of the game's greatest players, Jack Nicklaus," said Thomas J. O'Toole Jr., USGA president. "The Nicklaus Room offers an interactive experience that will allow future generations the opportunity to appreciate Jack's legacy and relive many of the greatest moments in American golf history."

Trump's Ferry Point officially opens in NYC to rave reviews

Donald J. Trump, chairman and president of The Trump Organization, accompanied by Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric Trump, executive vice presidents of development and acquisitions, as well as special guest Jack Nicklaus and members of the Nicklaus family, officially opened Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point, the most anticipated new course in the country. The event took place Tuesday, May 26.

Donald Trump, along with Ferry Point course designer and golf history's greatest champion Jack Nicklaus, completed the long-awaited course, which is now open and already receiving rave reviews.

Golfweek names two Nicklaus Design layouts to its '10 that mattered' list in special 40th anniversary issue

In an issue reflecting back since Golfweek began publishing in 1975, the magazine highlighted 10 golf courses that made a difference in how the art of golf course design is understood by players today, and transformed the business of golf. Two high-profile Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses--Mission Hills World Cup Course in China and Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point, the recently opened public course in The Bronx, NY--both were included in the elite list for being among the most interesting and influential courses to be designed in the modern era. They were chosen out of almost 12,000 golf courses worldwide that have opened since 1975, including 6,500 in the U.S. alone.

Jack Nicklaus named to Huffington Post's list of 50 most powerful Americans age 50 and older

In order to conjure up their list of the 50 most powerful Americans age 50 and older, Huffington Post first had to answer, "What is power?" They said it came down to one word--influence. And, "if your presence, your words, your endorsement of anything moved the needle considerably in perception or tangible action--social media, legislation, business practices, innovation--you had power."

Eighteen-time major champion Jack Nicklaus--the player, the designer, the philanthropist, and the good-will ambassador--is the only golfer or representative of the golf industry to make the list. He came in at No. 30 among a who's who of actors, writers, media moguls, innovators, fashion icons, singers, business leaders, and politicians.
