RBS debuts new
ads featuring
Jack, First Tee
The Royal Bank of Scotland is releasing this month two print ads that promote the impactful relationship enjoyed by Jack Nicklaus, The First Tee and RBS, focusing on the depth of character of the Golden Bear and the character-building values of The First Tee. Last year, Nicklaus and members of a South Florida-based chapter of The First Tee gathered at The Bear’s Club for a day of filming, and born from that day were priceless moments and now two powerful ads. A “Commitment” ad will appear in a May issue of GolfWorld, while an “Action” ad will debut in Golf Digest.

Nicklaus Design and the
Golden Bear (Oso Dorado)
reign atop Mexico survey
Nicklaus Design continues its dominance of the golf scene in Mexico, sweeping every category in BEST’s Top 30 Golf in Mexico Awards for 2009, including the Top Private and Resort courses, the Top New Private and Resort courses, and the country’s Top Architect in Jack Nicklaus. The magazine released its fifth annual survey this week and this is the fourth year they have named Mexico’s Top Architect. The Golden Bear has been honored with the No. 1 spot in every survey.

 Nicklaus Design sets record
with 70 courses in Golf Digest’s
ranking of “Best In State”
When it comes to golf course design’s version of the American pie, Nicklaus Design continues to enjoy the industry’s largest slice.
In Golf Digest’s recent biennial survey of America’s Greatest Courses, which featured seven Nicklaus courses in the America's 100 Greatest as well as seven in the 100 Greatest Public Courses, the magazine included a listing of the “Best In State.” Nicklaus Design placed a record 70 courses in the by-state rankings—up five from the previous record count in 2007 and 16 more than in 2005.

They say you don’t get a second chance at first impressions. Well, Cap
Cana has made the most of its first and second impressions.
Fresh off the second
Cap Cana Championship—an immediate hit on the Champions Tour—the
Punta Espada Golf Course was ranked No. 5 in Golfweek’s recent list of
the “Best Tour Courses You Can Play.” It is the second such ranking
of the best public-access courses played on the PGA, Champions, Nationwide and
LPGA tours in 2008-09.

Jack Nicklaus, The Bear’s Club join fight against paralysis with 7th Annual Buoniconti Fund Invitational
Nick and Marc Buoniconti joined golf legend Jack Nicklaus as he opened up his home course, The Bear’s Club, for the 7th Annual Buoniconti Fund Golf Invitational presented by Stewart Rahr to benefit The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis, the fundraising arm of The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis.

Jack and Barbara to be honored with National Pathfinder Award
Golf legend Jack Nicklaus and his wife, Barbara, will be honored with the 2009 National Pathfinder Award at the annual Pathfinder Awards Banquet on Sunday, June 28 at Conseco Fieldhouse. The Pathfinder Awards annually recognize individuals for their contributions and dedication to youth.
The awards banquet is held in conjunction with the 22nd anniversary Youthlinks Indiana Charity Golf Tournament, co-presented by Indiana Sports Corporation and Indiana Black Expo.

Triumph at Jack Nicklaus Junior Championship at Mission Hills in China

There's still a long road to travel before Steven Lam can start contemplating teeing-up at Augusta National. But the Hong Kong teenager has edged a step closer to earning a coveted spot in the 2010 Masters Tournament.
Lam survived a late wobble to emerge triumphant in the second edition of the Mission Hills Jack Nicklaus Junior Championship, which drew 90 competitors from six Asian countries for the April 28-20 event.
