American Lake Veterans Golf Course (June 14-15, 2010)

Jack Nicklaus paid a visit Monday and Tuesday to the American Lake Veterans Golf Course near Tacoma, Wash. American Lake represents a pilot program for volunteer-run golf facilities in the US, where soldiers--many of whom have lost their limbs to defend our country--use the game of golf to recreate, to rehabilitate and as a release to help heal their hearts and minds. Jack is donating his design services to turn the facility from nine to 18 holes, and all work is being funded totally by donations. To learn more, visit www.veterangolf.org. "No donation is too small," Jack said. "These soldiers have earned our help." Shown: Danny Dudek, a commander in the Warrior Transition Battalion, celebrates a shot by high-fiving Jack.
