Unbelievable. Birdie. birdie. Birdie. Birdie. At 62 with a back that should prevent him from walking? The man is unbelievable, very simply the greatest ever. One round like that makes everyone smile - one charge like that reminds us of how great he was, is and always will be.

As someone who lives and dies with every event Jack plays and squeezes for each hole (thank God for real time scoring) Jack is playing, today was unbelievable. After the double on #2 and the bogey on #3 my unwavering optimism was being fully tested. After righting the ship for the next several holes the bogey on #13 again seemed to destine him to a medicore round at best. (Actually considering his age and ailments a 75 or 76 would have been more than acceptable especially considering the overall scoring conditions.) However, once again the greatest of all time summoned up some magic over his last 5 holes. With each click of the refresh button - seeing Jack go from +3 to +2 to +1 to E to -1 after birdie on 18 was unbelievable. I didn't get a lot of work done today but it was well worth it. Thanks Jack and let's create some more magic tomorrow.

I grew up in Akron, Ohio and have been Jack's biggest fan for all my life. I used to watch him at the American Golf Classic and World Series of Golf at Firestone. And I still believe, even today, he is the greatest. Practice and play more and he will contend.Today is evidence of that. Those are my dreams and wishes. And hopefully after today they will be Jack's. I only pay attention to golf tournaments when Jack(or Gary) is playing. Because it isn't worth watching if the greatest is not playing. And Jack if you ever need a caddie....

Simply wonderful to see a glimer of that greatness I grew up watching. Love to see Jack make the cut and play the weekend, but regardless, today was special. Thanks Jack!

Dear Jack,
I wanted to let you know how wonderful my experience was watching you play your opening round of golf at your Memorial Tournament on Thursday 5/23/02. I felt as if I was watching the Golden Bear of the 70's or the 80's. Knowing your competitive nature, yesterday's round must have been a great satisfaction for you. The thrill you gave the gallery during your back nine gharge was electifying. I also made a comment to you as you walked off the 16th green toward the 17th tee. My comment was " Be careful Jack You Might Start Scaring The Younger Kids". The comment was sincere and encouraging, only because I still think on occasions with the right circumstances you can play the game of golf with the best of them. I have had great pleasure in watching you play and compete in tournament golf over the last 30 years. Please try to keep playing competitive golf for as long as you can. Here is one fan that will never grow tired of watching the " Greatest Golfer Of All Time".
