Jack Nicklaus' latest odyssey: 5 countries, 5 days, 1 shot of vodka
Fresh off his recent 13-day, 9-country trip to Asia and South Africa, Jack Nicklaus worked his way to Europe for a five-day, five-country visit. His trip began in Dublin, Ireland, where he received the KPMG Golf Business Forum Lifetime Achievement Award before delegates from almost 45 countries, and visited a golf course site in nearby Roundwood. Then, the Golden Bear went to England and Royal Birkdale, site of the 2008 British Open, to join his partners at The Royal Bank of Scotland for a key announcement with the USGA. Then, Jack set off on a whirlwind tour of design site visits that began at Gut Larchenhof in Germany and ended in Morocco. In between, he visited Russia, where he made a site visit to St. Petersburg and then signed his latest deal in Moscow- consummated with a customary shot of Russian vodka.
