Planet Jack to debut on Golf Channel Monday, Tuesday Nights
(May 28, 2009)- In a two-part, original documentary from the Golf Channel that celebrates the legacy of Jack Nicklaus, reflects the tireless, global businessman he remains, and reveals the passion the Golden Bear has for the outdoors, Planet Jack is set to debut Monday and Tuesday nights at 8:30 p.m. ET.
In April 2008, Jack and as many as nine other associates embarked on a 13-day, nine-country, 14-state trip around the world that took the Golden Bear through Japan, Korea, China, India, the Seychelles, Mauritius and South Africa. Along for the ride were producers and cameramen for the Golf Channel, who were granted unprecedented access to film Jack for this special documentary on the Golden Bear's global travel and design work. “We were thrilled to have extraordinary access to Jack Nicklaus for Golf Channel’s Planet Jack documentary,” said Golf Channel Producer Paul Schlegel. “For nearly two weeks, we travelled with Jack in close quarters as he circled the globe to visit courses that he was designing. That access allowed us to capture Jack in moments where he was relaxed, introspective and funny. It is a unique perspective that offers a glimpse of the man behind the legend.”
The Planet Jack documentary was split into two 30-minute shows. After each show debuts Monday and Tuesday nights, the Golf Channel will air them consecutively at 10:00 p.m. ET Tuesday.
