Spending a day on the golf course with family is a common activity for people across the country. Jack Nicklaus' golf outing this week was just that, with a little business mixed in.
Stryker, the world's leading producer of hip and knee implants and Nicklaus Companies partner, filmed its latest commercial on June 20 at The Bear's Club in Jupiter, Fla. The commercial features Jack and Barbara Nicklaus, along with several of the Nicklaus grandchildren.
Nicklaus spent time with each grandchild walking and talking, coaching them on the game he knows so well, and even playing basketball.
"It was fun to work with my grandkids and have them join me to help deliver the message for Stryker in a very credible and real way," said Nicklaus.
Nicklaus received a ceramic-on-ceramic hip implant manufactured by Stryker Corporation in 1999 after suffering an injury in 1963 which had caused him increasing hip pain over the years.
"I wanted to have my joint replaced because I wanted to improve my quality of life," Nicklaus said.
The commercial shows Jack not only playing golf but also shows him active in his normal everyday lifestyle.
"I think you will see a different side of Jack Nicklaus when the commercial comes out," said Nicklaus.
The commercial will also feature stories and experiences of other individuals, like Jack, who have enjoyed getting their lives back with Stryker products. The commercial is expected to air fall 2005.
