Nicklaus North wins Jack Nicklaus Cup Matches
for second time in two years

Nicklaus North Golf Course, Whistler, British Columbia, Canada, came out on top for the second time in as many years, taking home a victory in the Jack Nicklaus Cup Matches when the 25th annual event concluded Aug. 27 at Daufuskie Island Resort on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

For the title, Nicklaus North, with 265 points, edged out English Turn Golf and Country Club of Louisiana, at second place, and Cherry Creek Country Club, Colorado, who finished third. Nicklaus North was represented by the club’s head golf professional, Andrew Smart, and club members Steven MacDonald, John Nicoll and Gordon Annand.

Twenty-eight teams gathered at the Melrose Course, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, and The Golf Club at Indigo Run to represent Nicklaus Design clubs from around the world in the 54-hole tournament. Teams participated in scramble, best-ball and modified chapman formats. Each team consisted of a professional and three members of varying skill levels. Teams accumulated stableford points for their net team scores over three days of play to determine the overall champion.

The top nine teams from each bracket qualified for the annual "shootout" competition at Melrose after the first and second rounds. Superstition Mountain–Lost Gold and Desert Mountain-Chiricahua, each from Arizona, won the hole-by-hole elimination events while representatives from The Peninsula Golf & Country Club, Delaware, and Desert Mountain–Renegade came away with first place in each of the putting contests.
