Nicklaus North Golf Course wins Jack Nicklaus Cup Matches
Nicklaus North Golf Course came out on top, taking home a victory in the Jack Nicklaus Cup Matches when the 24th annual event concluded Aug. 29 at The Bear's Club, Jupiter, Fla. and Ritz Carlton Golf Club and Spa Jupiter. Nicklaus North edged out Ritz-Carlton Golf Club and Spa Jupiter, second place, and Barrington Golf Club, third place, for the title.
Thirty-two teams gathered at the two Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses to represent Nicklaus Design clubs from around the world in the 54-hole tournament. Teams participated in scramble, best-ball and modified chapman formats. Each team consisted of a professional and three members of varying skill levels. Teams accumulated stableford points for their net team scores over three days of play to determine the overall champion.
Eighteen teams qualified for the annual "shootout" competition at the Bear's Club after the first round. Nicklaus North also won the hole-by-hole elimination event while representatives from Montreux Golf & Country Club, Reno, Nev. came away with first place in the putting contest.
Congratulations to each club and competitor in the 24th Jack Nicklaus Cup Matches and a special thanks to The Bear's Club and Ritz Carlton Golf Club and Spa Jupiter for a great job hosting the tournament.
