Jack Nicklaus on Arnold Palmer
retiring from competition

"First of all, I don't believe it. I'm sure I will see him at the Father-Son, and I feel confident Arnold's grandson, Sam, won't let him retire just yet. And the next time he plays with his lunch bunch at Bay Hill, and after the next birdie he makes, Arnold will be out there again. If last week was, in fact, the last time Arnold plays competitive golf, it will be a sad day not to see my friend out on the golf course. I know how much he loves being out there, and I know how much his fans and the golf world love having him out there. We owe him a great deal of thanks for what he did for the game. There never has been anyone like him before in the game of golf, and there probably won't be another like him again. Thanks Arn, from one of your fans. Jack."
