NICKLAUS Magazine Launch Announced

Branded lifestyle magazine celebrates the game of golf, but also the "game of life"

Media Partners Publishing, in conjunction with the Nicklaus Companies, launched nationally on Dec. 5 an affluent lifestyle magazine branded NICKLAUS and inspired by the career, the life and the lifestyle of Jack Nicklaus.

The quarterly publication celebrates the sport of golf but also the unique lifestyle that surrounds it. The magazine will include information about some of the latest Nicklaus course openings, as well as news about Nicklaus partners and licensees. For golf fans, NICKLAUS delivers profiles of championship courses and golf destinations; the latest and greatest golf equipment and apparel; instructional tips from golf professionals at Nicklaus courses around the world; as well as personal stories from the Golden Bear and his closest friends.

"While golf is a guiding theme that links many of the articles within the magazine, the editorial will extend beyond golf," Jack Nicklaus said. "There will certainly be an opportunity to learn about what's going on in my life, my business and with our golf courses, but a larger percentage of the magazine will be general lifestyle editorial. We feel that the people who join or play at Nicklaus clubs have common interests, and many of those interests I share. Whether it's golf, travel or being outdoors, we all share similar lifestyles, and as the magazine says on the cover, we enjoy the game of life."

The three covers for the premiere of the lifestyle magazine NICKLAUS.

For those who live life to the fullest, NICKLAUS' broad-spectrum editorial will provide interesting and timely articles covering an array of topics, such as: exceptional travel opportunities around the globe; health and wellness tips from respected industry professionals; updates on the latest stylish attire; innovative interior design; elegant residential communities and resorts; premier wines and spirits; as well as fine dining and entertainment opportunities around the world and at home.

In the 148-page premiere issue, NICKLAUS will showcase the recently opened Ritz-Carlton Golf Club & Spa in Jupiter, Fla., as well as the Bear's Best courses in Las Vegas and Atlanta. The magazine will take you into some of the newest luxury communities on the Big Island of Hawaii, and into some of the finest homes at Desert Mountain and the finest restaurants in nearby Scottsdale, Ariz. Nutritionist Sari Mellman unveils a program that has attracted and benefited more than 50 professional athletes, including NBA star Grant Hill, and NFL stars Ricky Williams and Tim Brown. Country music star Vince Gill and Hall-of-Fame quarterback Jim Kelly talk about their love for the game of golf. NICKLAUS takes you to a private game reserve in Africa, and later takes you on deck of the world's most luxurious cruise ships and the latest in sportfishing boats. The magazine also answers the question: What if you could visit Pebble Beach and money was no object?

"We think Jack Nicklaus and the Nicklaus name transcends golf," said Mark Peterson, group publisher for Media Partners Publishing. "Nicklaus has long been equated with the highest of quality, whether it's been on the golf course or off. Those who know Jack know that he and his family have a passion for the outdoors. They enjoy fishing, hunting and boating, among many other activities. People who gravitate toward Nicklaus courses and the Nicklaus brand tend to have shared interests, whether it's a love for travel, good golf or a good meal."

NICKLAUS magazine will be distributed in private country clubs worldwide, mailed to members of Nicklaus Design courses, distributed on private jets, placed in luxury hotels and resorts, and will be available in select newsstands and airports.
