Nicklaus Design withdraws its design services from Royal Indian Raj project

NORTH PALM BEACH, Fla.-- Nicklaus Design announced today that it has withdrawn its participation in a golf course project near Bangalore, India, being developed by Royal Indian Raj International Corporation (RIRIC), after RIRIC failed to resolve issues that had arisen in connection with the agreement between the parties to design a proposed Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course.

"Our design team, including Jack Nicklaus, had the opportunity to visit Bangalore earlier this year, and see the proposed site at Nandi Hills," said Tim Kenny, executive vice president for Nicklaus Design. "Unfortunately, RIRIC did not proceed with development of that site within the deadlines required under our agreement. We believe that it is in the best interest of each party, including Royal Indian Raj and their current and future customers, that we put an end to rumors which have circulated regarding their project by confirming the termination of our golf course design agreement and endorsement of their proposed golf course."
