Golf Connections with Mitch Laurance

Two influential men join host Mitch Laurance on Golf Connections, as Allen Wronowski, 37th President of the PGA of America and Howard Milstein, Co-Chairman and Partner of The Nicklaus Companies, offer insight and history to a great hour of conversation.
Mitch moves on to his next guest, Howard Milstein, and attempts to relate to listeners the monumental life in business and sports that Howard has lived. Mitch mentions Howard’s high level of accomplishment in business, from his Chairmanship of New York Private Bank and Trust, the Milstein Companies (real estate), the New York State Thruway Authority, the New York Blood Center, and more. He mentions Howard’s past ownership of the NHL New York Islanders, and then asks Howard to detail how he became involved with golf and eventually Jack Nicklaus and the Nicklaus Companies (Nicklaus.com). Listen to Howard’s interesting tale of his own introduction to the game, and to a fascinating and inside glimpse of what it’s like to play golf with Mr. Nicklaus, as Howard relates humorous anecdotes about playing in various father/son events with the Golden Bear. He then details his current involvement in the latest addition to the Nicklaus legacy, the Nicklaus Ball, and describes the evolution of the product, why both he and Mr. Nicklaus feel it’s important to those who play golf, and how the charitable aspect of the project is a key component in mixing the game with giving. His account of the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation (NCHCF.org) is a moving one, and Howard details future plans for the expansion of the line to involve other children’s charities as well.
