Major Series of Putting to debut March 2017 in Las Vegas on Nicklaus Design green

Next March, Major Series of Putting (MSOP) will host the largest putting tournament in history at a unique Las Vegas venue highlighted by a putting course under development and designed by world-leading Nicklaus Design. Included in the plans is a 20,000-square-foot, 18-hole putting course. Although Nicklaus Design has rolled out artificial putting surfaces in the past, the atmosphere and concept will be unlike anything else. Surrounding the course will be grandstand seating, live leader boards, a pro shop, a sports bar, live entertainment and more.

Multiple championship events with total prize money expected to exceed $10 million will be held between March 8 and March 29, 2017.

Participants from around the world will have the opportunity to test their skills—and nerves—as they compete over several days in high-stakes championship putting tournaments. With crowds of onlookers, live television broadcasts and the opportunity to win and take home a share of the millions in prize money, MSOP will showcase intensity and suspense unlike anything seen before in golf.

“MSOP is setting the stage for golfers from all walks of life to experience the intensity and excitement you’ll only reach when you sink that final putt for the win,” said Brad Faxon, a two-time member of the U.S. Ryder Cup team and a winner of 21 professional events who will serve as an advisor to MSOP. “Everyone has a shot at glory! All that is needed is a putter, a ball, skills and ice in the veins.”
MSOP is inviting PGA Professionals at golf facilities throughout North America to host qualifying events through 2016 and early 2017, and send their best to compete at putting’s highest level.

Any participant will have the opportunity to earn a spot in one of the MSOP Championship events in Las Vegas. Select MSOP tournaments will also offer registration fees for those looking to gain direct entry into one of the events. The 2017 MSOP schedule currently includes singles and team events in stroke play and match play with exclusive events for women, amateurs and professional golfers. Additional tournaments will be announced soon.
