Dramatic changes enhance
Cabo del Sol's Ocean Course
Bigger is not always better. Especially when location, namely a pair of superlative settings on the Sea of Cortes, trumps size.

With seven holes fronting the turquoise-blue sea, the Ocean Course at Cabo del Sol is the course that placed Los Cabos, the 20-mile corridor at the tip of Mexico’s Baja California Sur, squarely on the global golf map when it debuted in 1994.

Among the top-ranked international venues on designer Jack Nicklaus’ résumé, the Ocean Course at Cabo del Sol is revered as one of the finest courses in Latin America. Like other layouts built in the 1990s and earlier, the club has had to respond to equipment advances by subtly altering the strategy on a number of holes.

The Golf Club at Harbor Shores recognized
by GOLF Magazine's Best New list

Harbor Shores Community Redevelopment, Inc. is pleased to announce that The Golf Club at Harbor Shores, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course, was ranked No. 3 on the recently released Best New Courses You Can Play list compiled by
GOLF Magazine.

This prestigious annual ranking by GOLF Magazine celebrates the top 10 new public-access courses in the country.

In describing the course, GOLF Magazine said, "One of the year's feel-good stories is this short but stern Jack Nicklaus Signature design that weaves through hard-woods, marshland and the massive white sand dunes that edge Lake Michigan on holes 7, 8 and 9. Developers are hopeful the course will help kick-start this long-depressed area of southwest Michigan."

Harbor Shores Managing Director Mark Hesemann said, "The team at Harbor Shores is very proud of this recognition. I had the honor to be a part of Jack Nicklaus' team for a number of years and it was truly rewarding to have the opportunity to work with him again.

The Concession Golf Club
hosts clubs in Ryder Cup-
inspired Concession Cup
BRADENTON, Fla. - The Concession Golf Club hosted and won the first Concession Cup Dec. 2-4. The competition pitted a team from The Concession against teams from five elite private golf clubs from the Philadelphia area in a tournament designed to emulate the traditions, camaraderie and competition of the Ryder Cup matches, upon which The Concession Golf Club was inspired and built.

The Concession, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course designed in association with Tony Jacklin, was conceived in commemoration of the 1969 Ryder Cup singles match between the two, where Nicklaus conceded a putt to Jacklin on the final hole. That now-legendary gesture of sportsmanship, known as "the concession," rendered the two teams in a 17-17 tie. The United States retained the Ryder Cup, having won it in 1967. That moment marked the beginning of a lasting friendship between the two men and inspired one of America's great golf clubs.
