After resounding success at Muirfield Village Golf Club, attention turns to JNGC Korea and 2015 Presidents Cup

With the 10th playing of The Presidents Cup being an overwhelming success on Jack Nicklaus’ home turf—thanks to record crowds from the Central Ohio faithful—The Presidents Cup now takes to the road in 2015 and the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea for the first-ever Presidents Cup in Asia.

Nicklaus-designed Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, outside of Columbus, last month became the only course in the world to have hosted the Solheim Cup, the Ryder Cup, and The Presidents Cup. Now begins another run of sorts for the Golden Bear. Following the Ryder Cup being played in 2014 on the Jack Nicklaus-designed PGA Centenary Course at Gleneagles in Scotland, The Presidents Cup in 2015 will be staged in Songdo International Business District in Incheon, at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea. The course, which is located 40 miles west of Seoul in the country’s largest economic development zone, celebrated its opening in September 2010 with the Champions Tour’s first official event held in Asia. Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea hosted the Songdo Championship in 2010 and 2011, and the 2012 Korea Women’s Open on the KLPGA Tour.
Nicklaus-China announces partnership with Hainan Air

Nicklaus will consult on HNA’s portfolio of 13 courses, including the re-branding of Pasadera CC to Nicklaus Club—Monterey

Nicklaus China, an entity of the Nicklaus Companies formed in 2012 to focus on the strategic and responsible growth of golf in China, has signed a formal partnership with aviation leader Hainan Air (HNA), allowing both companies to expand their reach and influence on the sport. Nicklaus China will use the experience and expertise of iconic sportsman and golf course designer Jack Nicklaus, along with his teams at Nicklaus Design and the Nicklaus Companies, to offer turnkey development services and support to the 13 golf courses currently owned by HNA. The airline company owns 11 courses in China and two in the U.S., including Pasadera Country Club in Monterey, Calif., which has been rebranded as Nicklaus Club–Monterey.

Pasadera, and its spectacular Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, officially opened in June 2000—the same week golf’s greatest champion said goodbye to the US Open stage. Over the last 13 years, Pasadera—now Nicklaus Club—Monterey—holds the proud distinction of being the only Nicklaus Signature Course on the famed Monterey Peninsula.

Jack Nicklaus Headlines WGA’s Third Annual Green Coat Gala

Jack Nicklaus, a winner of both the coveted Western Amateur and Western Open, headlined the Western Golf Association’s third annual Green Coat Gala, a black-tie event that raised more than $900,000 for the Evans Scholars Foundation, which awards college scholarships to deserving golf caddies. The total was more than $300,000 above the money raised in 2012.

A sold-out crowd of about 350 attendees packed a ballroom at The Peninsula Hotel in downtown Chicago to attend the event, which featured Nicklaus—the winner of record 18 major championships, two Western Open titles (1967-68), and the 1961 Western Amateur—fielding questions from longtime friend and two-time U.S. Open champion Andy North...
