2020 marked the launch of the first Jack Nicklaus-branded sets of golf clubs by the esteemed Miura Golf Company. Miura has been making the world’s finest forged golf clubs since 1957. Designed and constructed by master craftsman Katsuhiro Miura, each club is individually made using Miura’s patented forging process. To this day, Miura-san continues to work in the factory with his sons, Shinei and Yoshitaka, who proudly carry on the Miura legacy. With the brothers’ commitment to the pursuit for perfection, the Miura tradition will be carried on well into the future.
Mr. Nicklaus has enjoyed a personal relationship with the Miura family which started when the Golden Bear first visited the company’s factory in Himeji, Japan, to meet Miura-san. In fact, it was during that very trip that Mr. Nicklaus became the only individual other than Miura-san to sit in the number one chair position on the grinding line. Upon reflecting on the trip, Miura-san said, “the day Jack visited the factory was the best day of my life.”
