Qingdao Tiantai Hotsprings Golf Development Co., Ltd. announced the opening of the first-ever Jack Nicklaus Academy of Golf in the Shandong Province of China. The world-class training facility at the TainTai Golf & Hotsprings Resort is one of the most complete golf instruction and training facilities in all of China. Currently, there are 24 training facilities in nine countries under the Nicklaus Academies banner with as many as eight scheduled to open in the next 17 months.
The Nicklaus Academy at TianTai features two climate-controlled Jack Nicklaus Coaching Studios, complete with the Nicklaus Academies exclusive integrated technology package which includes high-speed video capture, a pressure/balance mat, a Flightscope X2 ball flight monitor and multiple viewing monitors. K-Vest and TOMI technologies are also incorporated into the complete training experience. The Nicklaus Academy at TianTai is also the official training center for the Shandong Province’s men and women golf teams as they prepare for the 2016 Olympic Games.
TainTai welcomes Gordy Walker, PGA, as the Director of Instruction at the Jack Nicklaus Academy. Walker brings extensive international experience to the Academy and is certified by Nicklaus Academies Director of Instruction and 2011 PGA National Teacher of the Year, Mike Malaska, and the Titleist Performance Institute.
The TianTai Resort has 27 holes of golf, a complete driving range including covered hitting stalls, natural grass tees, multiple target greens, and putting and short game areas. The Nicklaus Academy is open to members, residents, guests and the public. The complete resort has 46 rooms and suites for overnight guests along with outstanding food and beverage options, a full pro shop and support services, and its famous natural hot springs.
